ClubWPT Gold Moves Arizona Players to 21+ After State Cease-and-Desist

What happened?
ClubWPT Gold has changed its Arizona rules following a cease-and-desist action announced by the Arizona Department of Gaming earlier in July.
The operator published an Arizona customer notice describing a transition to a 21+ experience. The changes target customers who are under 21 and physically located in Arizona rather than announcing that the entire platform has left the state.
Why Arizona issued its order
On July 10, the Arizona Department of Gaming announced cease-and-desist orders against five platforms: BetOpenly, Bookmaker, Club WPT Online Poker, Kutt Inc. and Raffle Creator.
Regarding Club WPT Online Poker, the department alleged that Arizona residents under 21 had been able to enter pay-to-play online poker tournaments for prizes. It also challenged the platform’s use of “no purchase necessary” language and said online poker is not authorized in Arizona.
The department’s letter alleged conduct connected to the promotion of gambling, illegal control of an enterprise and money laundering. These remain regulatory allegations. They are not the same as criminal convictions or a final court judgment.
Is ClubWPT Gold still available in Arizona?
Based on the wording of the new customer notice, ClubWPT Gold appears to remain available to eligible Arizona customers aged 21 or older. The announcement does not say that poker games, ring games, tournaments or mini-games have been removed for all Arizona players.
That does not mean Arizona regulators have approved the platform’s continued operation. American Casino Sweeps found no public announcement as of July 27 confirming that the Department of Gaming had accepted the new age restrictions or considered its cease-and-desist demand satisfied.

The Arizona Department of Gaming’s enforcement material names “Club WPT Online Poker.” The new Arizona restriction notice, however, appears in the ClubWPT Gold support center.
ClubWPT Gold’s support material describes ClubWPT and ClubWPT Gold as separate products with separate accounts, logins and participation models. ClubWPT uses membership and tournament points, while ClubWPT Gold uses Gold Coins and promotional Sweeps Coins.
It is therefore important not to assume that every reference to ClubWPT automatically applies identically to ClubWPT Gold. At the same time, the timing and Arizona-specific nature of the new restrictions strongly connect the policy change with the state’s recent enforcement action.
