Kalshi Signs Five MLB Clubs in Prediction Market Push

Published · Written and reviewed by Edvina Kaminskaite

In brief: Kalshi has announced partnerships with the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants, expanding prediction-market branding across five major MLB clubs while legal disputes over sports-event contracts continue.

Kalshi announces five MLB club partnerships

Prediction-market operator Kalshi has expanded its presence in professional sports by announcing partnerships with the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants.

Kalshi announced the five agreements on August 25, 2026. The company said the partnerships will include stadium signage, team media, social and online integrations, radio placements and fan activations.

The agreements are with individual MLB clubs rather than Major League Baseball as a league. That distinction matters because MLB separately named Polymarket its Official Prediction Market Exchange partner in March 2026.

What the clubs have confirmed

The Los Angeles Dodgers confirmed a multi-year agreement naming Kalshi their Official and Exclusive Prediction Market Partner.

The Dodgers said Kalshi branding will appear on LED displays around Dodger Stadium. The deal also includes the renamed Kalshi 435 Club, Dodgers-related offers in the Kalshi app and activations in Centerfield Plaza.

The Boston Red Sox also confirmed a multi-year partnership. According to the club, the agreement includes Fenway Park signage, digital and social integrations and WEEI radio placements.

The San Francisco Giants confirmed that their agreement includes signage at Oracle Park, radio placements and experiential promotions across Giants platforms.

One detail remains unclear: Kalshi described the five partnerships collectively as multi-year agreements, but the San Francisco Chronicle quoted a Giants executive saying the Giants arrangement runs through the end of the 2026 season. The Giants’ own announcement does not specify a duration.

Why the Kalshi MLB partnerships matter

The partnerships move prediction-market marketing further into physical and digital environments traditionally associated with major professional sports.

Kalshi said baseball-related trading volume on its platform has increased 36 times year over year. The figure comes from Kalshi and should be treated as a company-reported statistic.

The geographic spread is also notable. Three of the five clubs — the Dodgers, Padres and Giants — are based in California, where the California Gambling Control Commission says sports betting is not regulated by the state.

Kalshi, meanwhile, remains listed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission as a designated contract market. That federal status does not by itself resolve ongoing disputes about how state gambling laws apply to sports-event contracts.

The legal backdrop remains unsettled

Kalshi’s expansion comes while courts and regulators continue to examine the relationship between federally regulated prediction markets and state gambling laws.

Massachusetts obtained a preliminary injunction concerning Kalshi sports-event contracts in January 2026. A later federal court opinion discussing that litigation noted that the Massachusetts order had been stayed pending appeal.

Other disputes have produced different outcomes, including New York’s civil case against Kalshi and the Utah federal court ruling involving Kalshi sports-event contracts.

Those cases do not establish a single nationwide rule. The legal treatment of prediction-market sports contracts remains contested across different jurisdictions and procedural stages.

How baseball fans may be affected

The most immediate effect is greater visibility.

Fans attending games involving the five partner clubs may encounter Kalshi branding through stadium signage, team media or other club-related activations.

Dodgers fans, for example, may see Kalshi branding on stadium LED displays and encounter the company’s presence around Centerfield Plaza.

A club sponsorship should not, however, be interpreted as a state gambling licence, a court ruling or confirmation that every Kalshi product is available to every fan in every location.

Users should check current eligibility requirements and platform rules directly rather than assuming that a local team partnership establishes access.

What players should know before using a prediction market

Anyone considering a sports-event contract should understand how the specific market settles before committing money.

Kalshi says individual markets have their own rules and designated sources used to determine outcomes. Users should also check applicable transaction costs because fees can vary between markets.

  • Read the settlement rules for the specific market before entering a position.
  • Check the displayed fees before confirming a transaction.
  • Confirm current location and eligibility requirements.
  • Do not assume that familiar team branding removes financial risk.
  • Treat money committed to an uncertain outcome as money that can be lost.

Responsible-play considerations

Prediction-market branding inside major sports venues makes responsible decision-making especially important because the product may be presented alongside ordinary fan activity.

Team loyalty should not determine how much money someone risks on an uncertain outcome. Set a fixed spending limit in advance, do not borrow money to participate and do not increase a position simply to recover an earlier loss.

What remains uncertain

The partnerships themselves are confirmed, but several details remain unresolved.

Kalshi’s description of the Giants partnership as part of a multi-year package conflicts with the reported statement from a Giants executive that the arrangement lasts through the end of the current season.

The commercial value of the agreements has not been publicly disclosed in the cited official announcements.

More broadly, the legal position of sports-event prediction markets continues to develop across several jurisdictions. Kalshi’s federal regulatory status is established, but courts and state authorities continue to dispute how state gambling laws interact with that status.

ACS bottom line

Kalshi’s five new MLB club partnerships represent a significant expansion of prediction-market marketing into mainstream US sports.

Fans of the Braves, Red Sox, Dodgers, Padres and Giants can expect greater Kalshi visibility through stadium and team channels. However, these are individual club agreements rather than a league-wide partnership with MLB.

For users, the practical message is to check current eligibility, understand the specific contract and its fees, and treat any money committed to an uncertain outcome as money that can be lost.
