Wyoming Gaming Commission warning
On May 22, 2025, the Wyoming Gaming Commission warned residents about unlicensed online casino and sweepstakes websites. Furthermore, the agency stated that none holds a Commission license and cautioned players that it cannot resolve disputes over winnings from unlicensed operations.
Wyoming Statutes 6-7-101 and 6-7-102
In particular, Wyoming’s gambling laws define gambling and professional gambling, as well as specific exclusions. An operator’s use of Gold Coins or an alternative free-entry method does not, by itself, demonstrate that every prize-linked casino game meets state law.
SF 44 took effect July 1, 2026
Wyoming enacted SF 44 in March 2026 to update its exceptions for private social gambling and charitable drawings. In particular, the act clarified what counts as a bona fide social relationship. Even so, the act did not establish a licensing pathway for online sweepstakes casinos.
Proposed 2027 language is not enacted law
Legislators also considered draft legislation specifically addressing online casinos and sweepstakes. However, a draft is not an enacted prohibition. For now, the Gaming Commission’s warning and current Wyoming statutes remain applicable.
