The NFL Week 5 Sunday DFS slate for 2026 gives daily fantasy players an 11-game main slate with one matchup standing well above the rest for projected scoring.
Detroit at Arizona is the obvious starting point. The game carries the highest total on the slate at 54.5 points, creating strong cases for Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jacoby Brissett, Michael Wilson and Trey McBride.
That does not mean every lineup should simply load up on Lions and Cardinals. Popular game environments create ownership decisions, and tournaments often reward lineups that attack the same matchup from a different angle or identify a lower-owned secondary stack.
As of October 10, 2026: Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are questionable, while Rhamondre Stevenson is also questionable. Confirm Sunday inactive lists before finalizing DFS lineups.

Week 5 Sunday DFS Slate Overview
The Sunday main slate contains 11 games, but the projected scoring is not evenly distributed.
Detroit at Arizona carries a 54.5-point total, comfortably the highest on the main slate. That makes it the most obvious source of quarterback stacks, premium skill-position plays and game stacks.
The popularity of that game matters just as much as its projection. Cash-style and smaller-field lineups can lean into strong expected volume, while large-field tournament builds should consider less conventional combinations from the same matchup.
Green Bay against Chicago provides another interesting environment for stacking, while Cincinnati against Miami offers upside if Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are cleared to play.
Best Week 5 DFS Quarterbacks
Jared Goff at Cardinals
Goff is one of the strongest quarterbacks to build around in Week 5. Detroit has continued to throw aggressively, and the Lions enter the highest-total game of the Sunday main slate.
Through four games, Goff has thrown for 1,214 yards with nine touchdowns and no interceptions. Arizona has struggled to prevent efficient passing production, while an indoor environment eliminates weather concerns.
DFS approach: Goff works in both safer builds and tournaments. Pair him with Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta or Jameson Williams and consider bringing the stack back with Michael Wilson or Trey McBride.
Jacoby Brissett vs. Lions
Brissett gives DFS players a cheaper route into the same Detroit-Arizona shootout.
If Detroit scores efficiently, Arizona could be forced to remain aggressive through the air. That game script gives Brissett a path to useful passing volume.
DFS approach: A strong value quarterback on the slate. Pair him with Michael Wilson and/or Trey McBride, then use a Detroit receiver on the other side.
Jordan Love vs. Bears
Love offers a path away from the heavy Detroit-Arizona ownership while still giving DFS players access to a capable passing offense.
Christian Watson and Matthew Golden provide stacking options, and D’Andre Swift can serve as a bring-back from Chicago.
DFS approach: Particularly appealing in tournament lineups where a lower-owned game stack can separate a lineup from the field.
Best Week 5 DFS Running Backs
Jahmyr Gibbs at Cardinals
Gibbs is the premium running back on the slate because he can produce fantasy points in almost every game script.
He enters Week 5 averaging 88.3 rushing yards and 5.5 receptions per game, giving him both rushing volume and valuable receiving involvement.
That combination becomes even more attractive in the highest-scoring environment on the slate.
DFS approach: Strong spend-up option in both cash-style and tournament lineups. He can also be used alongside a Goff stack because of his receiving role.
Chase Brown at Dolphins
Brown is another strong running-back option in a Cincinnati offense facing Miami.
His appeal increases if the Bengals are missing one of their top receivers, as Cincinnati may lean more heavily on the running game and short-area opportunities.
DFS approach: A strong alternative for lineups that cannot reach Gibbs or want to avoid concentrating too much salary in Detroit-Arizona.
D’Andre Swift at Packers
Swift is useful because he fits naturally into Green Bay-Chicago game stacks while retaining independent rushing and receiving upside.
DFS approach: Mid-range option with correlation value if you are building around Jordan Love and Green Bay pass catchers.
TreVeyon Henderson vs. Raiders
Henderson is one of the most injury-sensitive DFS plays on the slate.
Rhamondre Stevenson is questionable with a knee injury. If Stevenson is inactive, Henderson’s projected workload and DFS appeal rise considerably.
DFS approach: Strong value consideration if Stevenson is ruled out. If Stevenson plays, Henderson becomes more appropriate for tournament lineups than safer builds.
Best Week 5 DFS Wide Receivers
Amon-Ra St. Brown at Cardinals
St. Brown remains the most natural premium receiver to pair with Jared Goff.
He has drawn 46 targets through four games, converting them into 31 catches, 303 yards and five touchdowns.
Arizona’s defensive tendencies also fit St. Brown’s ability to consistently win against zone coverage.
DFS approach: Premium core play and the cleanest receiver in a Goff stack.
Michael Wilson vs. Lions
Wilson gives DFS players strong exposure to the Arizona side of the slate’s best game.
His recent target volume has elevated his floor while the Detroit matchup provides enough upside for tournament-winning production if Arizona is forced to chase points.
DFS approach: Strong play alongside Brissett and an excellent bring-back in Detroit stacks.
Christian Watson vs. Bears
Watson provides explosive-play upside without requiring exposure to the most popular game on the slate.
DFS approach: Pair with Jordan Love in tournaments. Matthew Golden can also be used as part of Green Bay stacks.
Ja’Marr Chase at Dolphins
Chase is questionable while working through concussion protocol, so his status must be confirmed before lineup lock.
If active without limitations, he immediately returns to consideration as one of the highest-ceiling receivers on the slate.
DFS approach: Use only after confirmation that he is active. His uncertain status could affect ownership, potentially making him particularly interesting in tournaments.
Best Week 5 DFS Tight Ends
Trey McBride vs. Lions
McBride combines elite usage with the best game environment on the slate.
He enters Week 5 with one of the highest target shares among NFL tight ends and remains heavily involved on routes and first reads.
Detroit has also struggled against the position.
DFS approach: The strongest premium tight-end option and an ideal partner for Brissett stacks.
Sam LaPorta at Cardinals
LaPorta offers another route into the Detroit offense and can be paired with Goff when paying all the way up for St. Brown creates salary problems elsewhere.
DFS approach: Strong stacking option with Goff and a viable part of larger Detroit-Arizona game stacks.
George Kittle at Seahawks
Kittle provides elite per-target upside and is one of the stronger one-off tight ends outside Detroit-Arizona.
DFS approach: Useful for tournament builds that deliberately avoid McBride and LaPorta ownership.
Mike Gesicki at Dolphins
Gesicki offers another way to attack Cincinnati-Miami, particularly if the Bengals enter the game with limitations at wide receiver.
DFS approach: Value option whose appeal increases if Cincinnati’s available receiving group becomes thinner.
Week 5 DFS Value Picks
Jacoby Brissett: One of the clearest quarterback values because he provides inexpensive exposure to Detroit-Arizona.
Jaylin Noel: Increased route involvement gives him a path to useful production against Tennessee.
Roman Wilson: A lower-cost receiver who can help create salary flexibility for premium running backs and receivers.
Antonio Williams: Another affordable receiver who can open room for Gibbs, St. Brown or McBride elsewhere in the lineup.
TreVeyon Henderson: Becomes one of the most important potential value plays if Rhamondre Stevenson is inactive.
Best NFL Week 5 DFS Stacks
Stack 1: Jared Goff + Amon-Ra St. Brown + Trey McBride
This is the straightforward way to attack the slate’s strongest scoring environment.
Goff and St. Brown give the lineup concentrated Detroit passing production, while McBride benefits if Arizona is forced to answer on the other side.
Best for: Cash-style builds, single-entry contests and tournaments where you differentiate elsewhere.
Stack 2: Jacoby Brissett + Michael Wilson + Trey McBride + Jameson Williams
This is a more aggressive way to play Detroit-Arizona.
Instead of paying for the most obvious Detroit combination, the lineup is built around Arizona’s passing game with Williams serving as the Detroit bring-back.
Best for: Large-field tournaments.
Stack 3: Jared Goff + Amon-Ra St. Brown + Sam LaPorta + Michael Wilson
Double-stacking Goff gives the lineup access to multiple Detroit touchdowns while Wilson keeps the game correlated from Arizona’s side.
Best for: Tournaments where you believe Detroit-Arizona develops into a full shootout.
Stack 4: Jordan Love + Christian Watson + Matthew Golden + D’Andre Swift
This construction provides a direct alternative to the most popular game on the slate.
If Green Bay-Chicago produces more scoring than expected while Detroit-Arizona disappoints, this type of lineup can gain substantial ground on the field.
Best for: GPPs and larger tournaments.
Week 5 GPP Strategy
The biggest Week 5 DFS decision is not whether Detroit-Arizona is attractive. It clearly is. The harder decision is how to use it differently from everyone else.
Consider the Arizona side: Brissett, Wilson and McBride can provide access to the same shootout while producing a different roster construction from Goff-St. Brown builds.
Use Jameson Williams as a bring-back: St. Brown is the safer Detroit receiver, but Williams can produce a large score on fewer opportunities.
Do not force every premium player into one lineup: Gibbs, St. Brown and McBride all have strong cases, but forcing all three can leave the rest of the roster dependent on thin value plays.
Watch for late injury value: Sunday inactive news can create better salary-saving opportunities. Rhamondre Stevenson’s status is particularly important for TreVeyon Henderson.
Build correlated lineups: If your quarterback produces a tournament-winning score, one or more of his pass catchers are likely benefiting too. Game stacks allow multiple roster spots to succeed from the same high-scoring outcome.
Week 5 Injuries That Could Change the DFS Slate
Ja’Marr Chase
Chase is questionable with a concussion. If active, he immediately becomes a high-ceiling tournament receiver against Miami.
If he is ruled out, targets must be redistributed throughout Cincinnati’s offense.
Tee Higgins
Higgins is also questionable because of groin and neck issues.
The statuses of both Chase and Higgins materially affect Joe Burrow, Chase Brown, Mike Gesicki and Cincinnati’s secondary receivers.
Rhamondre Stevenson
Stevenson is questionable with a knee injury.
If he is inactive, TreVeyon Henderson becomes one of the most important potential value running backs on the slate.
DFS rule: Update lineups after Sunday inactive lists are released. Late injury news can completely change projected workloads, ownership and roster construction.
How to Build a Week 5 DFS Lineup
Start with a game environment: Detroit-Arizona is the obvious choice, but Green Bay-Chicago and Cincinnati-Miami can provide alternatives.
Stack your quarterback: Pair Goff with St. Brown or LaPorta, Brissett with Wilson or McBride, and Love with Watson or Golden.
Add a bring-back: If you expect a shootout, use an opposing player who benefits from the same high-scoring game script.
Choose where to spend: Gibbs, St. Brown and McBride are all premium plays. Decide which ceiling you value most rather than forcing every expensive option into the same build.
Find value with real opportunity: A cheap player is only useful if there is a realistic path to touches or targets.
Leave room for Sunday news: Injury-driven value can emerge shortly before lineup lock.
